How to make 2017 your best year yet!

Happy New Year’s Eve! I’m reflecting on 2016 this morning in Chilly Tennessee. Finding myself all bundled up in front of the fireplace instead of a palm tree is a nice change of scenery!

2016 has been an incredible year for me. I find myself learning more about who I am as each year passes. Like for instance, not letting the little things bother me. Sometimes my OCD drives me crazy at times lol! Or how about negative people and their words affecting me. This is still something I am working on to be honest. I guess I just need to realize that we are all made differently and not everyone has the exact heart as mine.

I’d say most of all, I have really found who I am as a person. God has really shown me the confidence I have always lacked. When you have the confidence in yourself it’s almost like the world is yours for the taking. I absolutely love the feeling that nothing can stop me from achieving my dreams.

That being said, I want to share with you some tips that have really helped me grow in every area of my life. If you apply these pointers in your daily routine, I promise you that 2017 will be the best year yet!

1. Start each day in prayer/meditation

For me, this is the most important part of starting my day! I personally set my alarm for 6 o’clock, then head to my Bible app and read today’s verse,  then pray and start journaling. Find what works best for you!

2. Realize your circle

Who you hang out with is a huge reflection on who you will become. Your circle should be friends who are uplifting you, and motivating you on your journey through life. If they are not doing this… Well I think you know what I’m going to say!

3. Feed your brain

Oh my goodness is this a goodie! I try to schedule at least 10 minutes every day to do this. Whether it be a motivational book, motivational video, or an audiobook make this a priority!! Remember, what you put in is what you put out! Here are some of my favorites:

  • 10X Rule
  • Compound Effect
  • Spirit Driven Success

4. Make a vision board

This may sound cheesy to you, but when you actually put items on a board of what you want in life, you will be more inclined to make it happen! My board has a boat on it, my dream house, traveling the world etc. If it’s to pay off debt, put that on your board too! Also, make sure you put this somewhere in your home where you will see it every day. Don’t just hang it somewhere and let it collect dust! This is your vision. Not just an art piece!

5. Set goals

Set goals that motivate you. When you set goals for yourself, it is important that they motivate you. This means making sure that they are important to you, and that there is value in achieving them.

  • Set smart goals
  • Set goals in writing
  • Make an action plan
  • Stick with it

Now, if you apply these five steps in your routine, you will start to notice a shift. This shift will bring out a new you! Get your vision, then do all that you can to make it happen! This can be your year of abundance if you want it to be. Believe in yourself a little more today and make a plan of action for the new year!
