It’s time to get real!

Don’t you find it comical that everyone on social media has such an amazing life!

Well I wanted to share with you some of my personal struggles as a mom, wife and entreprenuer.

It’s 6:30am and my brain instantly wakes up! Every morning, same time, no alarm clock needed! As I’m laying in bed, I can’t help but think of my first task, my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 50th and so on. I better get up and start checking ย them off!

Let me also be clear, just because I work from home, or anywhere for that matter, doesn’t mean I have nothing to do. I feel like all I do is DO, DO, DO!!

I now find myself alone (ahhhh) in the living room reading my daily devotional, my Bible, and journaling my prayers for the day. A day without Jesus in my opinion makes for an unhappy day!

  • 8:00am- I wake up Ethan
  • 8:05am- I wake up Ethan
  • 8:10am- I wake up Ethan
  • 8:15am- “ETHAN, WAKE UP!”

FINALLY! He’s up and moving๐Ÿ‘Š

As Ethan is getting ready for school ( we homeschool btw) is when my day truly begins. Here we go…..

Well good morning world! Geeeeesh! As my phone is blowing up already (literally, it gets really hot) I now find myself glued to my phone all while trying to multitask reading messages after messages, and getting ready for my morning run.

Funny story, I use to laugh and make fun of people who ran! Sorry everyone, but now I know why these crazy people run! It’s a sense of peace I guess you could say. I just GO… not quite like Forrest Gump, but I go, put in my earbuds and think about nothing! I run an average of four to five miles every day but Sunday.

I return home to shower of course, as I smell like a dirty gym locker room.๐Ÿ˜ง๐Ÿ˜ง After I shower I now throw a fit because I have NOTHING to wear! My fault of course. I forgot to do laundry again! I always say I will start a load, but somehow my brain cells go beserk and say, “Ashley NOOOO! DON’T DO IT”. I can’t stand laundry. So now I have like 6 loads to do…Ugh! Currently taking applications in this area of my home! Poor Ethan gets mad when he wants to do his laundry and clothes are still in the wash from three days ago. Sorry kiddo.

Moving on…..

“Hey mommy”, calls Ethan. “Yes”, I reply. “Can you come here for a second”. ย As I get to Ethan he says, “I don’t understand this math problem”. Okay, he’s asking me for help. Help in MATH! “Uh….Uh…Sure kiddo, let me take a look!” My eyes instantly become big as all these numbers are looking at me dead in the eye! Secretly, I think they are yelling at me! I then find myself going Frozen. “You know what Ethan, let me ask daddy.”

At this point, Ethan now knows not to ask me for help when it comes to math. Not my strong suit at all! Thank goodness for our brainiack daddy to the rescue!ย

Periodically throughout the day, Ethan will ask for help, but he’s pretty good and truly enjoys the homeschool life. Eventually, I will get to that blog post too!

So each day varies for me when it comes to three-way calls, team calls, and business meetings. I really need to get better at time blocking though! Right now I feel like a hot mess and I’m all over the place! I had a good friend tell me that I should create office hours. So for instance from 10:00am-12:00 don’t take any calls, and put that time towards your family time.

I think finding balance in our daily routine can be a constant struggle, so I’m going to try this out! Everyone’s hours are different by the way, so if you decide to time block, pick times that best suit you and your family.

I do want to give a shout out to my amazing husband! We both work together from home, and when he sees me stressing out, he’s always to my rescue and will do anything to make me smile.๐Ÿ’œ

For those of you who think my marriage is perfect…… HA! Trust me, we drive each other crazy at times. Being together for 16 years, we know how to pull each other’s hair out, but when we love we love. Our marriage is a solid rock formed on God’s grace and abounding love.

Let’s talk about selfies! I love selfies and not ashamed to say it! Heck, I love pictures in general. If I eat it, I snap a pic! If I have a killer outfit on, I snap a pic, and you better believe, if I have a fish in my hands Chris snaps the pic! Lol ( I love fishing)๐ŸŽฃ๐ŸŽฃ #SELFIESROCK

You can definitely say selfies are apart of my daily routine! ๐Ÿ˜‚

I feel like I could keep writing about a day in my life, but truly everyday is different! There is always new blessings, but also new struggles. Life is a challenge that’s for sure, but it’s what we do with these challenges and struggles that will define us. Life is messy, so just remember to take it breath by breath and know that God will never forsake you! Just be YOU, and be the best at it!
